Bulldogs Bit By Hornets, Huskies

 
The Bulldogs baseball team dropped two games this week to fall to 4-6.
 
Hornets 6, Bulldogs 2
 
The Bulldogs opened up scoring in the first inning Monday at home, scoring one run when Dalton Fouquette doubled. They added another run when Noah Mohs knocked Fouquette in with a single.
 
However, Big Lake pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. Brady Josewski singled on an 0-1 count, scoring two runs to tie the contest, then Ben Busse singled on a 0-1 count, scoring another to go up, 3-2.
 
Preston Schlegel led the Hornets to victory on the hill. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five. Josh Hunt threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Zach Wenner took the loss for Becker. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out two.
 
Fouquette, Wenner, and Lucas Eigen each collected one hit to lead Becker. 
 
Josewski went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Big Lake in hits.
 
Albany 11, Becker 2
 
Becker struggled to get their offense going Thursday on the road, getting easily dispatched by Albany, 11-2.
 
The Bulldogs got on the board first in the first inning. Fouquette's sacrifice fly scored one run.
 
Albany scored two in the second, then pulled away for good with one run in the third inning when Nolan Sarvid drew a walk, scoring one run.
 
Albany scored four runs in the fifth inning with Jordan Schiffle, Carter Kotzee, and Sarvid each driving in runs to go up 7-2.
 
Sarvid was the winning pitcher for Albany. He went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four. Cole Kramer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Cameron Fischer took the loss for Becker. He went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits.
 
Jackson Thorn led Becker with two hits in two at bats.
 
Albany tallied 13 hits. Zach Moritz, Sarvid, Kotzee, Isaac Nett, and Aaron Christon each had multiple hits for Albany.
