It was a pair of wins last Thursday in Delano, as both the Bulldog boys and girls track teams finished atop a solid field of teams.
The girls scored 154 points en route to the win, nearly 16 points ahead of the host Tigers.
“We competed very well at this meet and came home with another win,” Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy said. “We had 6 personal record performances in addition to 5 season best performances.”
The first and last running events in the meet featured the same Bulldog fearsome foursome scoring wins in both the 4x800 and 4x400 relays. Andie Changamire, Katelyn Brower, Alea Briggs and Lexi Rose ran a time of 10:12.15 in the first win and they finished the 4x400 with a time of 4:15.69.
In the 100 M hurdles, Kailey Thompson placed 5th in a PR time of 17.30, Lauren Woelfel was 7th and Khloe Thom also had a PR with a time of 18.17.
Salayna Allen finished 4th in the 100 meters, while the 4x200 relay team of Josie Reckelberg, Kylee Morton, Abby Atwood, and Thompson took first place with a season best time of 1:50.15.
In the distance races, Rose placed first in the 1600 meters with a season best time of 5:24.62, and Olivia Babler was 8th in her season best time of 5:55.55.
Babler took 5th in the 3200 meters and Natalie Trenz was 7th, while Alea Briggs finished 2nd in the 800 with a PR time and Kaylyn Rickard finished 6th.
Changamire won the 400 meter race in a PR time of 62.82 and Katelyn Brower was 3rd; Thompson took 2nd in the 300 hurdles, while Lyon was 4th and Thom 6th.
The 200 meter race saw Reckelberg earn the top spot with a PR time of 27.24, while Atwood was 7th and Morton 8th.
In the field events, Bella Kuschel was second in the high jump and Rose finished 4th.
Woelfel took 5th in the triple jump and 2nd in the pole vault, while Laila Cook was 7th and Violet Johnson 8th in that event.
In the long jump, Reckelberg was 7th and Morton 8th, while Ella Tschida took 6th in the shot put and Sadie Massey was 7th.
Boys
The boys team put together what Coach Paul Schmidt called his team’s “most decisive victory” of the season, scoring 146 points to win at Delano. Dassel-Cokato was a distant second at 102 points.
“This was a great meet for us with many personal records and individual victories,” Schmidt said. “Our one-two punch of Carter Reckelberg and Owen Angell once again came through with Carter picking up 4 first place finishes and Owen grabbing 3 firsts and 1 second.”
Reckelberg won the 100 (11.19), the 200 (22.42 a PR), the triple jump (43’ 2.5”) and the Long Jump (22’ 4.75”). Angell claimed 3 victories, including the Pole Vault, the 110 hurdles (14.95 a PR), the 300 hurdles (40.13 a PR) and a second place in the High Jump at 5’10”. Angell’s pole vault of 15 feet broke his own school record.
“Between these two, they scored 78 of the team’s 146 points,”Schmidt said.
Parker Spindler had another great performance in winning the 1600 with a time of 4:43.26 and Hudson St. Denis who placed 4th with a personal best time of 4:45.9.
“Evan Hubbard ran a great 3200 finishing fourth with a time of 10:30 and Tanner Felton ran a personal best in the 800 with a time of 2:01.02,” Schmidt added.
Spindler, Felton, and Hubbard teamed up with Brandt Hemmelgarn to take 2nd in the 4x800 with a time of 9:36.
Tarver Schendzielos finished 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 19’10” and Mitchel Soltau grabbed a couple of 7th place finishes in the 100 (11.83) and the High Jump (5’6”).
Hunter Youngdahl took 4th in the 300 hurdles at 45.43, and Brandt Hemmelgarn took 5th in the 800 with a time of 2:11.
Becker competed in Tuesday’s True Team meet in Cold Spring.
“We go into that meet looking to compete at a high level and give ourselves a chance to move on to the State True Team meet on May 18th,” said Schmidt.
