Bulldog tennis knocks off Hornets

The Becker Bulldog tennis team began the 8AA South Sub-Section tournament with a 7-0 win over Big Lake.  The Bulldogs, who came in as the top seed, cruised to the win.

“We have a strong team that has chances in every match at every position,” Coach Nate Bucher said.

With the win, the Bulldogs advanced to face the winner of the Sartell/Annandale match in a Thursday afternoon match.

“We have faced both of those team and competed well with both,” Bucher added.

In reflecting on the regular season, Bucher lauded the accomplishments of his team.

“We’ve had some really great matches throughout the year, we only lost two matches thorough the entire season, sadly, those came in the M8 conference schedule,” Coach Nate Bucher said.   “We lost to St. Francis and Cambridge-Isanti which were good teams and we had chances to win. We had a big win over Monticello forcing a tie between C-I and Monticello for the M8 championship.”
