Bulldog netters go 1-1

The Becker Bulldog volleyball team split in a pair of contests this week, dropping a Monday evening match to Watertown-Mayer 0-3 before coming back Tuesday night to win 3-2 over Chisago Lakes.

In the loss to Watertown, Becker ran into a very good Royals team.

“We struggled getting our offense going but our defense was on fire again,” Coach Katie Uittenbogaard said.  “Kenna Hennessey, once again, dominated in the back row as she led the way with 28 digs in three sets.”

Tuesday night, the Bulldogs found some offensive rhythm and got back into the win column.

“There was lots of back and forth throughout the match,” Uittenbogaard said.  “The final point was scored by junior Brynn Koste.”

Coach Bo also had praise for Hennessey once again, saying she was “all over the court covering the entire back row.”

In addition, she credited Ady Petty and Haley Pilarski for adding to the team’s incredible serve receive and ball control.
