The Becker girls track team placed third in last week’s Section 5AA True Team Track and Field Meet held Tuesday in Rocori.
In the True Team format, each team is allowed two entries per event and each participant scores to give a true score for each team.
The top three team scores were Rocori 749.5, Foley 637.5, and Becker 593.5.
“The highlight for our team was our 4x100 relay team finishing first and earning a new school record in the process,” said Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy. “The team of Josie Reckelberg, Kylee Morton, Raelee Lyon and Salayna Allen ran a time of 51.34, bettering the old school record set last year which was 51.62.”
Kailey Thompson ran for two personal records in this meet, placing second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.40 and was third in the 100 hurdles in 16.95.
“She is making exciting progress this year,” Reimer-Kealy said.
Lexi Rose placed second in the 1600 with her time of 5:24.95 and placed sixth in the 800 (2:27.51), while
Seventh grader Ella Tschida placed fourth in the shot put with a PR of 33’6.4”. Tschida also PR’d in the discus with a toss of 92’10.
Becker had three finishes of fifth place: Reckelberg in the 200 (27.62), Andi Changamire in the 400 (63.33), and Alea Briggs in the 800 (2:27.20).
Bella Kuschel tied her PR in the high jump for sixth place, jumping 4’10, while Reckelberg was seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 32’ 1/2”.
