The Becker Bulldog boys lacrosse team captured two wins this week, beating St. Cloud Tech and Hutchinson and losing to STMA.
STMA 22, Becker 1.
St Michael continues their dominance over the rest of the area schools. Last Friday, Becker was the host and they got throttled by the Knights.
“They are squared away and hard to compete with,” said Becker Head Coach Paul VanVoorhis.
Becker’s lone goal was scored by Captain Cale MacMillan.
Becker’s JV squad lost 15-1.
Becker 5, Tech 2
Junior Blake Angell scored three goals in a home win over the Tigers of St. Cloud Tech Tuesday.
Also scoring for the home team were Macmillan (one goal) and sophomore Justin Reichle (one goal).
Captain Zack Olson-Burkman had one assist and junior Goalie Tanner Pieper had seven saves in the contest.
“We are continuing to work freshman Jack Jones on face-offs,” said VanVoorhis.
Jones won five of the six face-offs he took.
“Jones is very promising and we look forward to the future for this young man.
VanVoorhis says currently his squad does not have a face-off specialist and he has high hopes Jones can fill that void.
Becker’s JV team beat Tech’s, 6 to 4.
