Boys Golf Team Showing Signs Of Improvement

 
The Becker Bulldogs boys golf team showed improvement as they competed in two golf meets this week.
 
Tuesday, the Bulldogs headed to Spring Brook Golf Course in Mora to play their first Granite Ridge Conference meet of the season, competing against Albany, Foley, Little Falls, Milaca, Mora, St. Cloud Cathedral and Zimmerman.
 
“Mora’s course is tough,” said Head Coach Dan Olson. “But we struggled to keep the ball in play and finished our first Granite Ridge Conference in seventh place with a total score of 188.”
 
Senior Austin Seavert led the team with a low score of 44. Tucker Rhodes came in second with a score of 46, followed by Ethan Tobako with 48, Zach Stanz with 50, Jimmy Braun with 55 and Brock Romalo with 56.
 
Thursday saw the Bulldogs at their second Granite Ridge Conference, held at Pebble Creek Golf Course.
 
“While we didn’t play great we showed signs of improvement from Tuesday’s round,” said Olson.
 
The Bulldogs tied for fourth with a team score of 349, and moved up to fifth place as a team in conference with a total score of 537.
 
Austin Seavert again led his team at the meet with a low score of 84. Matthew Martindale was next with a score of 87, followed by Ethan Tobako with 88, Zach Stanz with 90, Tucker Rhodes with 95 and Jimmy Braun with 108.
 
The team is next scheduled to compete at Albany on Monday, Legacy Christian Academy on Tuesday and presection on Thursday.
