Boys CC team competes at home, at SFHS

Last week was exciting for the Becker Bulldog boys CC team as they hosted a triangular meet at the beautiful Local 9 course Thursday.

Monticello and North Branch traveled to join the Bulldogs in the races which was the first golf course that the teams competed on in this unique season.

The boys varsity squad had some nice times as the Bulldogs captured the #2 spot as a team.  Lukas Karel accomplished the feat of earning the individual champion spot with his time of 17:51.  Teammate Tyson Ricker was close on Karel’s heels throughout the race and finished in 17:54.  Two packs of Bulldogs then followed as Mason Becker, Jase Tobako and Wyatt Hiltner crossed around the 19 minute mark and then Cade Stommes, Ryan Boecker and Keegan Murphy came in around the 20 minute mark.

At North Branch

Tuesday, the Bulldogs went to North Branch for some quick racing and accomplished a clean sweep winning each of the races.

The Bulldog varsity runners completed the sweep of the event as they scored 21 points in their race.  Tyson Ricker achieved his first ever individual varsity title in the event as he crossed the line in 16 minutes, 37 seconds.  Lukas Karel was next at 16:55 to earn second place.

The Bulldogs then achieved places 5-10 as the pack of Bulldogs reached the finish line with quick times.  Mason Becker (17:22), Jase Tobako (17:52), Wyatt Hiltner (17:56), Cade Stommes (18:27), Bruce Kraemer (18:41) and Ryan Boecker (19:02).

“This was a great way to finish off the regular season as the Bulldogs prepare for the Mississippi 8 Conference Championships next week,” said Head Coach Dustin Weege.

The JV and Junior High teams will be competing in the first ever Conference Virtual XC meet Tuesday as they will race here and will submit times for a virtual event.

The Varsity Dogs will be hosting again on Thursday at the Local 9 course as teams from the conference come in shifts to compete in a staggered meet.
