The Becker Blast 12U Columbia girls softball team qualified for the 12U, Tier 5 State Tournament hosted by Moorhead June 29-30. 

They came away state champions! 

After winning all three games on Saturday, the Blast beat a great Maple Grove team to make it to the championship series where Ellsworth, WI had to knock off the Blast team two times.  

Ellsworth succeeded in game one, winning 4-3 in a closely contested bout.  

Ellsworth looked as if they would finish off the Blast in the second and final game as they were leading 9-5 in the final inning. Ellsworth captured two quick outs with nobody on base in the top half of the inning and the game on the line.  Becker, however, rallied for five runs to take the lead, then shut Ellsworth down in the bottom half 1-2-3 to win the state championship!
