The Big Lake Cheerleading team will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Wednesday at Big Lake Lions Park. Money raised at this event will fund the rest of the team’s season as they once again prepare for nationals.
Bid for Nationals
The varsity team is excited to once again be competing on the national stage, having won their ticket for the competition after qualifying at the regional competition. The competition will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort Feb. 11-13. Teams from across the country will gather to compete in this massive event, including the students from Big Lake High School.
The junior competition team is also excited to take on a large competition. They will be performing at the MCCA State competition in St. Paul at the Roy Wilkins Event Center Jan. 29.
Spaghetti Dinner and Auction
The team will host a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to pay for transportation fees and other costs to help get the students to their performances. Dinner will be served from 5-8 p.m., and Santa Claus has agreed to make a special visit from 5-7 p.m.!
The varsity students will also be bagging groceries at Cub Foods in Monticello Dec. 19.
