The Big Lake boys lacrosse team lost twice last week — against Monticello last Wednesday and against Cloquet on Saturday. 

The Magic pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 16-4 victory. The Hornets only trailed by three at halftime but couldn’t keep pace in the second half being outscored 6-0 in the final quarter. 

On Saturday the team lost to Cloquet/Esko/Carlton 16-13 in a high scoring affair. The Hornets led 6-3 after the first quarter and 12-11 after the third. But once again the team couldn’t keep up late as they were outscored 5-1 in the fourth. 

The team will next travel to Brainerd on Thursday before coming back home and hosting Sartell on Friday.
