Congratulations to the two Becker wrestlers, Boston Kuschel and Owen Angell, that represented Becker in the Minnesota Ninth Grade (and under) Wrestling League State Tournament Saturday in Champlin Park.
Both wrestlers had some great impressive wins Saturday in the single-class wrestling league with competitive teams across the state (with more than 130 schools). They both join the growing group of 30 Becker place-winners within the history of the league.
• Boston Kuschel recorded two Technical Falls, a Major Decision, and a Pin in his route to fifth place at 94-lbs.
• Owen Angell recorded Three Pins and a Decision as he achieved the status of state champion at 145-lbs!
Owen becomes just the fourth Becker ninth grade wrestling league state champion. Owen shares that elite list with Zack Zimmer (2011), Cory Nelson (2009), and Russ Lumley Jr. (2002).
