Another week and another perfect record for the Becker girls tennis team as they dominated both matches 7-0. With the wins, the team’s season record remains unbeaten as the final weeks of competition tick off and the team sets their sights on the section tournament looming in the near future.
Last Thursday, the Bulldogs downed the Monticello Magic without losing a single set.
Courtney Nuest, Ayla Brown, Dani Nuest and Janelle Gudim each won their matches to give Becker a clean sweep in the singles competitions.
In the doubles matches, it was again all Bulldogs with the #1 team of Alayna Lindquist and Julia Bengtson winning 6-1 in both sets. Next up, Jackie Yoerg and Jazlyn Toedter were dominant in the #2 doubles match by winning 6-1 and 6-0. Hannah Uecker and Talia Loken then teamed up to defeat the Melvin sisters by equal scores of 6-4 in both sets.
Tuesday night, Becker hosted the Princeton Tigers and again picked up the win.
Courtney Nuest again won at #1 singles, while Maddie Moe picked up the win at #2 singles. Ayla Brown made quick work of her opponent at the #3 singles, while Dani Nuest won the first set, lost the second and then came back to win the final set for the win in the #4 match.
In the doubles matches, the Bengtson/Lindquist duo were winners in straight sets, while Yoerg/Toedter also won both sets. In the third match, Uecker and Gudim won in a third set tiebreaker to keep the Bulldogs a perfect 7-0 on the evening.
Coach Nate Bucher was extremely complimentary of the effort and determination showed by his entire team for their recent matches.
Thursday night the Bulldogs were scheduled to travel to Monticello to again take on the Magic.
