Becker Bulldogs softball hosted Zimmerman last Thursday and won 6-1.
The game would not pick up until the bottom of the third inning when the Bulldogs scored four runs to snatch the lead. Ady Petty started off the scoring by hitting a single, followed by a walk from Norah Fitzpatrick. Soon after, Jaimee Cook hit a single, which loaded up the bases for Kaylyn Patnode, who hit a two-run single. Another single was hit by Bulldog player Allie Duncombe, followed by Bella Hunter, who added a two-out RBI single.
The score would sit at 4-0 favoring the Bulldogs until the bottom of the fourth. Petty took the spotlight when she hit a single, stole second, and then scored off of a Fitzpatrick double.
The same thing happened in the bottom of the sixth when Petty again hit a single, stole second, and then scored on a Fitzpatrick base hit.
The Thunder tried catching up in the top of the seventh, but they only managed one run, which brought the final score to 6-1.
Bulldog pitcher Jaimee Cook came out a victor, allowing only three runs and two walks, while also striking out 10 batters.
