Becker wrestlers took on nine teams at the Albany Purple Pride Invite last Friday. Becker placed fourth out of the nine teams with a final score of 145.5 points.
In the 107-lb weight class, Jacob Williams from Becker received a bye in his first match and then a 12-4 decision in his third match, which landed him in third place. Bennet Kujawa, in the 114-lb weight class, finished in first place after he won all three of his matches by either technical or first round falls.
Blayne Kuschel, in the 121-lb weight class, and Logan Jarvis, in the 160-lb weight class, came in fifth place. Jackson Fischer managed a technical fall and a 4-3 decision in the 133-lb weight class, which launched him into third place. Kaden Nicolas came out victorious when he defeated his opponents through a bye, first round fall, and a 13-5 major decision in the 139-lb weight class.
In both the 145-lb and 189-lb weight classes, Becker wrestlers Jake Rosenow and Aiden Golley placed third at the invitational. Drew May wrestled his way into first place through a 12-1 major decision, 7-0 decision, and a 6-3 decision in the 152-lb weight class.
Overall, Becker did great throughout the invitational and will continue to prepare for sections.
