The girls soccer program had a lot to celebrate at their end of the season awards banquet this week.
Becker girls varsity finished with a 13-4-0 record, won the conference for the second year in a row, scored 96 goals for the season and only allowed 22 goals.
Coach Arnold Changamire talked about how the team accomplished two out of their three team goals they set at the beginning of the season.
The goals accomplished were to win the Sandbur Soccer Tournament and win the conference.
Coach Changamire gave thanks to the biggest group of seniors the program has ever seen and let them know they were, instrumental in the programs growth because of their commitment and their desire to improve.
Coach Changamire also thanked the coaches in the school soccer program which includes Anne Ashander, Gretchen Changamire and Stephanie Hemmelgarn.
Coach Changamire also thanked the parents for supporting their players and providing them with many opportunities to improve, as well as doing all the extra stuff during the season to make the season fun and memorable for the players.
During the banquet many awards were earned by people on the girls soccer team.
The Granite Ridge All Conference first team awards went to Maddy Corey, Lauren Sticha, Claire Voigt and Emma Domka. With an honorable mention to Macy Eigen and Reilly Cencer.
The team MVP award was presented to Lauren Sticha, who was also named Soccer Stubhub Player of the Week in September. She also set a new MSHSL record for most assists in a season.
McKenna Anderson won the team MVP award on her JV team this year as well.
The Most Improved was presented to Abbey Rothstein for varsity and Gretchen Graaftas and Mallory King, whom played on JV this year.
Most Dedicated was given to Emma Domka on varsity and Isabelle Carlson on JV.
Rookie of the Year for varsity went to Kaylin Peterson. Rookie of the Year for JV went to Elle Schendzielos.
The Bulldog Player Award was awarded Tory Nelson for varsity and Hailey Hamacher and McKenna Anderson for JV.
The Team Spirit Award was won by Reilly Cencer and Rachel Eisenreich.
The Coaches Award was presented to Megan Dudek and Jackie Lindsay.
