Becker Girls Shut Out Big Lake In Soccer

The Becker girls soccer team played and beat Big Lake 3-0 at home, Thursday.

The game was a very intense and physical game, leaving everyone on the edge of their seat.

The first half didn’t have much action as Becker and Big Lake fought for control over the ball.

Throughout the first period, both teams made multiple attempts to score a goal, but the goalies from both teams kept their guards up.

Towards the end of the first half, Maddie Corey, an 11th grader, scored a goal for the Becker girls after receiving a pass from 11th Grader, Lauren Stica.
After the first point, the teams fought for control of the ball again with sides coming very close to scoring.

The second half grew more intense as Big Lake had attempted to score  goals.  However, Aiden Bauer made many great saves, preventing Big Lake from gaining any points.

The next point came to Becker in the middle of the second half.  Izzy Swanson, a 10th grader, made her first varsity goal during the game after receiving a pass from her teammate, Stica.

After the second point the game grew more tense as both teams gave it their all and the intensity of the game increased.  Especially, as Big Lake’s defense grew tighter and saved many goals.

Becker’s offense grew more intense and they scored their third point from Claire Voigt, 11th grade, who scored one-on-one with their goalie pass given by Maddie Corey, 11th grade.  The final goal came with little time left in the game.

Ending it at 3-0, Becker’s win.  (See photos on page 14).
