Becker held their home cross country meet last Thursday - hosting teams from Monticello and North Branch.
The varsity race was won by Monticello with 20 points, Becker was second with 37 points and North Branch had 87 points. The JV team also took second to Monticello.
Becker’s girls ran well and the team earned five personal records for the day. There were 20 runners in this race. The Bulldogs benefitted as a team running against a good group of runners from Monticello.
Alexis Rose continued to improve and gain confidence as the team’s number one runner. She placed third with a time of 20:45.44 — a season best.
Natasha Berthiaume was Becker’s #2 runner and is looking stronger as the season progresses. She placed sixth in a season best time of 22:00.94. Right behind her came Krista Paulson, a senior who is new to CC this year. She placed seventh with a PR time of 22:21.04.
Senior Jaden Kraus provided a solid performance and placed 10th with a time of 23:08.33. Regan Hausmann continued to improve and placed 11th with a PR time of 23:36.51, just ahead of 12th place finisher Ella McDonald (23:36.51).
The final varsity racers were Raelee Lyon in 15th (24:04.47) and Abby Nelson in 17th battling a bit of an injury (24:23.46)
North Branch Meet
Becker ran at a Triangular held in North Branch Tuesday and came away with a top finish.
Team scores for varsity were Becker 15, St Francis 59, North Branch 64. There were 19 runners in the varsity race. Becker took places 1-5,7,9 and 13.
Alexis Rose ran this race all by herself, with the lead from the get-go. She challenged herself every step of the way, taking first with a PR time of 19:55.
Natasha Berthiaume had a time of 20:59, putting her in second place followed by Krista Paulson in third with another PR of 21:22.
Another senior, Jaden Kraus, placed fourth ((21:51). Close behind her was Ella McDonald, coming back off some sore legs and looking better in this race to place fifth (21:59). Regan Hausmann earned another PR this race (22:18) for seventh and has shown real improvement this year. Brooklyn Karel, in her first varsity race, was impressive in ninth place (22:26) and the girls finished off with Raelee Lyon getting a PR (23:03) in 13th place.
This was Becker’s final regular season meet and they will run their conference championship meet next Thursday, Oct. 8 at Becker.
