Becker dance team headed to state (again!)

The Becker Dance Team clinched their second consecutive trip to the state tournament in kick and jazz this past Saturday while competing in the 4AA section tournament.

Last year, the Bulldogs qualified for the first time in school history. Assistant coach, Gabby Thelen, quoted to the Patriot, “It’s an honor to continue to make history with this team.”

“I am nothing but proud of this team.” said senior captain, Stephanie Kluge. “Our team has been dedicated to our goals all season, including the off season. It was fun to be all-in with them today and watch some of the girls earn their first medals. I am grateful I’ve had the opportunity to be a leader and a teammate on this incredible team and I can’t wait to take one more trip to the Target Center with all of them!”

When the Patriot spoke to head coach, Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen, about the day she reported, “We had tons of personal bests which was exciting to see as it can be hard to continue to get better this late in the season. The routines weren’t perfectly executed, but that’s not what I asked them to do. I asked them to be in the moment and give high energy performances. I think they executed those two things extremely well and I’m excited to see our routines in such a big arena.”

The dance team will be competing at the Target Center on February 17 and 18.
