Becker Ace Race Coming To Town

The 6th Annual Becker Ace Race disc golf tournament comes to Becker City Park Aug. 6.

The permanent course, established in 2003, was designed by Tim Mackley. It features 18 Mach 5 type holes/baskets. The event is hosted by Ryan Larson. The course will be modified to 27 holes for the event.

Ace Race is a disc golf event in which participants don’t keep score, but rather throw “aces”, or hole-in-ones. This year, all players will be using the same disc, but it is a brand-new Discraft prototype, designed just for Ace Race events.

“Players are required to use the 2 prototype discs, and only these discs. Players throw each disc once per hole or 2 ace runs per hole.” says Ryan Larson. “On a scorecard provided, players mark ‘A’ for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit any part of the basket.”

The player with the most aces after 27 holes is declared the winner. Number of metal hits is used for tie-breaking purposes. The winner’s grand prize includes a Chainstar basket, a Discraft Trophy disc and more undisclosed awards.
Check in for this year’s event is 9 am, with a player meeting at 9:45 am.

Shotgun start is scheduled for 10 am.

The entry fee for the event is $30, and players receive a players pack from Discraft, a round of 27 holes, which equals 54 ace runs, and entry into a raffle for a DGA Mach Lite portable basket donated by Gabriel Financial Group.
Hot dog and hamburger lunches will be available for purchase after the round.
