Beautiful Day For Track & Field

 
The Becker boys and girls track teams competed at the Milaca Quad Tuesday.  The weather was great and both teams had very good meets.
 
Girls Track
 
The girls racked up 24 personal best performances at this meet as they continue to find just the right spots for each to compete in.  They finished first (82.5) with Mora in second at 78.5, Zimmerman in third at 59 and Milaca last at 49.
 
First place finishers for Becker included Callie Doucette in the 100M hurdles, Liz Mackedanz in the 400M, Lexi Dehmer in the 800M, Cassidy Pleoger in the 200M and the 4x400M relay and Cienna Pleoger in the triple jump.
 
The running events started with the 4x800M. Becker had two teams — Lexi Rose, Lexi Dehmer, Abby Nelson and Alli Knute ran a time of 10:51.40 for second place.
 
Alyssa Gruenes, Dani Nuest, Tasha Berthiaume, and Whit Schug ran 11:00.29 for third.
 
The 100M hurdles saw  all five Becker girls earn PR's.  Doucette placed first (17.60), Regan Hausmann third (18.86), Sarah Woelfel fifth (19.27), Arin Hendrickson seventh (19.72) and Tasha Berthiaume ran 21.12.
 
 Cassidy Pleoger placed second in the 100M (13.51) and Paige Maunu sixth (14.11).
 
The 4x200M relay team of Madi Pleoger, Ani Dehmer, Cienna Pleoger, and Callie Doucette ran 2:06.61 for third.
 
Dani Nuest returned to competition this meet and ran a very good 1600M race, coming in second to Zimmerman's talented Cheresa Bouley.  Dani's time was a fine 5:34.94.  Seventh graders Lexi Rose and Tasha Berthiaume each broke the 6:00 barrier for the first time in the 1600M, placing third (5:51.63) and fourth (5;54.49).   Arin Hendrickson ran 6:37.69.
 
The 4x100M relay team of Cassidy Pleoger, Abby Maruska, Keeley Holm, Paige Maunu ran a time of 54.91 and captured second place. 
Liz Mackedanz (eighth grade) won the 400M in a time of 65.69 and placed fourth in the high jump with a jump of 4'6" for a PR in both events.
 
The Bulldogs took second, fifth and sixth in the 300 meter hurdles.  Regan Hausmann PR’d  in 55.72, Madi Pleoger ran 57.74 and Jessica Gruenes ran 59.57.
 
Lexi Dehmer controlled the 800M, winning in a time of 2:30.5 to the second place time of 2;35.    Whit Schug placed fifth in 2:53.87.
 
Along with her second place finishes in the 100M and 4x200M relay,  Cassidy Pleoger won the 200M in a nice time of 27.75.  Abby Maruska came in second in 28.51.
 
Abby Nelson placed third in the 3200M in a time of 13:45.43.
 
 The 4x400M relay team of Abby Maruska, Madi Pleoger, Lexi Dehmer and Dani Nuest ran a time of 4:31.72 for first place to Zimmerman's 4:36.11.
 
The field events had Grace Schendel taking fifth in the discus with a PR of 76'2. In the long jump, Cienna Pleoger was fourth (13' 7.5).  Cienna took first in the triple jump with a season best jump of 30' 10.5.   
 
Jessica Gruenes got a PR in the pole vault to take fourth with a vault of 6'6.
 
Boys Track
 
Jordan Gruenes had a great day, running a personal best to win the 800M in a time of 2:05.53.  He was also part of the winning 4x400M team that ran an honor roll standard time of 3:30.98.  
 
Kevin Andres, who was also part of that winning team along with teammate David Myres, both won their individual events as well.  Kevin was the winner of the 200M with a time of 23.42 and the winner of the 400M with an honor roll standard time of 50.27.  Myres won the 110M high hurdles with a time of 15.62, which was just off his honor roll time from last week of 15.57.  Myres continued his winning ways with a victory in the 300M IH, with an honor roll time of 41.15.  He also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 18' 11".   
 
Sam Ricker won the mile with a time of 4:36 and then was second in the 3200M with a time of 10:36.  
 
“He has been doubling in these events which is extremely difficult,” said Head Coach Paul Schmidt.
 
Basil Ricker finished third in the 800M and Noah Fakhreddine finished fourth with personal best times of 2:08 and 2:09.  
 
Jack Belde ran and jumped well as the fourth member of the winning 4x400M team.  He placed fifth in the 200M with a 24.56 time and third in the high jump with a height of 5'6". He also garnered third in the triple jump with a leap of 38'7".  
 
Michael Schmitz continues to improve in all his events as he placed fourth in the 110M high hurdles with a time of 18.3 and fourth in the 300M IH with time of 46.5.
 
Tyson Ricker and Lukas Karel ran well in the 3200M to finish fourth and fifth with times of 11:03 and 12:07. Cade Stommes and Cayden Dewall ran well in the 400M, finishing fourth and fifth.  Stommes also placed fourth in the pole vault with a 9'6" jump.  Brayden Weber added a fifth in the discus with 98'6"
 
For teams, Mora was first with 90 points and Becker finished second with 79.5 points.  Zimmermann scored 75.5 and Milaca had 27 points.

Becker’s next meet will be Tuesday at home and then a road meet in Pierz Friday.
