The Becker Bulldog boys baseball team went 2-1 to close out the regular season with section play beginning next week.
Becker 8, Mora 0
Cody Gruenhagen pitched a complete-game shutout Thursday at home and had two hits for Becker in a win over Mora in their final regular season game before sections.
Gruenhagen gave up just three hits on the mound for the Bulldogs.
Andrew Stanger, Connor Rolf and Casey Vesledahl all had two hits for Becker, which finished the regular season with a 10-9 record.
Albany 6, Becker 0
The Bulldogs hosted the Albany Huskies Monday afternoon and were shutout by six runs.
No other information was made available to the Citizen-Tribune by press time.
Becker 8, Big Lake 2
The Bulldogs traveled west and beat the Hornets on the road last Friday night.
The Bulldogs took an early lead with a run in the second and three more in the third off Hornet pitcher, Dallas Miller. Vesledahl had the big hit as he doubled in two runs.
Big Lake got a run back in the home third when JD Huberty and Tanner Teige singled and moved up on a bunt by Doperalski. Huberty scored on an error.
After Bulldogs added a run in the fourth, Big Lake matched that with a run in the fifth. Bordwell and Huberty walked and moved up on a bunt by Teige. Bordwell scored on a groundout by Doperalski.
Teige came in to pitch in the fifth and allowed three runs in the seventh.
Dallas Miller took the loss. He allowed five runs (two earned) and two hits in 4.1 innings. He struck out five and walked four.
Becker’s Andrew Stanger was the winning pitcher.

The boys will travel to Sauk Rapids-Rice Tuesday to play their opening round game of the Section 5AAA playoff tournament. The opponent and time is yet-to-be-determined.
