Another M8 title for Bulldog girls golf

For the fourth year in a row, the Becker girls golf team captured the Mississippi 8 Conference Championship.

Last Wednesday, the team finished up play at Cambridge and ran away with the title.

Alexa Voller was meet medalist, firing an 82, while Layla Mathews finished with a score of 90, good enough for fourth place.

“We were able to win all eight conference meets this season to win the title,” Coach Anna Babler said.  “We also had four of our six Varsity girls take all conference.”

Mathews claimed the Mississippi 8 Girls All Conference Medalist honors, as she was the top golfer in the conference this season.  For the year, Mathews finished 12 strokes better than her closest competitor to run away with the title.

Voller finished third in the conference, while Avery Johnson was sixth and Nora Pilarski was 10th; all four girls earned All-Conference honors for their phenomenal year.

This week, Becker headed to Greystone Golf Course in Sauk Centre for sections with the top team and top five individuals outside of the top team advancing to the Class AAA state meet at Bunker Hills.
