Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker for Wilbur E. Lemmon, age 76, who passed away Wednesday at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Rev. Michael Kellogg will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Becker.
Wilbur was born October 3, 1943 to Wilbur Sr. and Alice (Bruse) Lemmon in Elk River. He attended Karago Country School and graduated from Becker High School. Wilbur served our country in the U.S. Army as a cook. He was united in marriage to Elaine Dietz on October 24, 1970 in Beardsley, MN and they have lived in the Becker area for the last 49 years. Wilbur was employed by Hoffman Engineering for 36 years. He was a member of Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church and a former member of Becker American Legion Post #193. Wilbur enjoyed being a husband, father and grandfather. His favorite hobbies were collecting 1-18 scale model cars, watching wrestling, and watching birds and squirrels.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Becker; sons and daughter, Robert of Becker, Kathy (Jeremy) Vetsch of Big Lake and Steven of Becker; sisters and brother, Dolores Gavin of Sartell, Marie (Gary) Kern of Becker and Duane Peterson of Becker; brother-in-law, Dave Wickner of Champlin; and grandchildren, Ozzy Hughes, Zachariah Lemmon, Nathaniel, Evan, and Darren Vetsch, and Anna Yarmon. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Jolene and Arlene Lemmon; sisters, Esther Johnson, Ethel Wickner and Dorothy Peterson; and brother-in-law, Arthur Gavin.
