BIG LAKE, MN

AUGUST 11, 1978 – APRIL 11, 2021

Sadly, Shayne lost his long hard battle with leukemia. Shayne was born August 11, 1978 in Marshall Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Patricia (Patt) Martin of Big Lake, Grandmother Beverly Hussong of Mission Texas, father Kevin Esping of Belle Plaine, the man he called (Dad) Joe Winkelman of Big Lake, Stepfather Dwight Martin of Ada Oklahoma, sister Schrae Martin of Minneapolis, Dearly loved Nephews he called 1, 2, 4 & 5. Chance, Skylaire, Jack, Ryder, and beloved niece Renny who was his no. 3. The two boys he called sons, Damen and Bryse Rose and many, many friends and co-workers. 

Shayne was a light that shined so brightly in everything he did by touching all lives in his family, in the many friends and even people he did not know.  The twinkle in his eyes, smile and his laughter will be remembered and loved by all who are lucky to have known him. Shayne had a love for books and knowledge, which included his comics for humor. He enjoyed singing karaoke and brought pleasure to anyone lucky enough to hear him sing. From mastering swords with a man, he called brother (Trevor Faudeen) to his musketeers at the Fest. Teaching his niece & nephews and sons archery or knives, which brought him one of his greatest pleasures. He had love and compassion for animals and especially his pals Cyrius & Oliver (Ollie)! He was devoted to family and without his zest for life the world will be darker without the light of Shayne Martin.

Memorial services will be held on May 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, County Rd. 43, Big Lake Minnesota. Celebration of life to follow at his home at 141 Will St. Big Lake Minnesota from 2 to 6 PM.
