Rodney “Hot Rod” J. Fandel

Mass of Christian Burial was Thurs., Feb. 15, at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Rodney J. Fandel, age 50, held his loving wife's hand and was surrounded by his supportive family as he went to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday. Rev. Virgil Helmin officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at the church in Clear Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Clear Lake.
 
Rodney was born to Bob and Judy (Lehnen) Fandel on June 24, 1967 in St. Cloud. He proudly served our Country in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He married Paula Salner on April 2, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. Rodney was employed at Creative Memories and most recently at Wal Mart. He was a member of Mid MN USBC Association, the local 700 Club and Waite Park American Legion Post #428. Rodney's sparkling and enthusiastic personality befriended him to all those he met whether on a golf course, bowling alley, beach or just walking through a concert crowd in his favorite tie-dye t-shirt. He lived life and loved people. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, Paula.
 
He is survived by his wife, Paula of St. Cloud; parents, Bob and Judy Fandel of St. Cloud; brother, Russ (Brenda) Fandel of Forest Lake; sister, Julie Kelly of Sauk Rapids; mother-in-law, Audrey Salner of Clear Lake; brother and sisters-in-law, Wanda Salner-Hengel (Michael Johnson) of St. Cloud, Linda (Donnie) Haus of Clear Lake, Scott (Romell) Salner of Sauk Rapids; many nieces and nephews; friends and extended family; and cats's, Divot, Hazzard, and Ace. 
 
Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents, Isadore and Esther Lehnen, Leonard and Eleanor Fandel; father-in-law, Joseph Salner; and cat, Bogey.
