Friends and relatives were invited to visit Fri., Oct. 20 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Robert E. Hollinder, 91 of Clear Lake who passed away at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids on Wed., Oct. 17. Burial will be private at Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake.

 

Robert Edward Hollinder was born on March 17, 1926 in Clear Lake to Herman and Annie (Anderson) Hollinder. He grew up in Clear Lake and remained there until he married Marlene Brown on March 17, 1951 in Minneapolis and the couple made their home in St. Louis Park for many years. Robert served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a Postal Clerk and Supervisor for the United States Postal Service and retired in 1981. Upon his retirement, he moved back to his home town of Clear Lake. Robert was a member of the South Santiago Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert loved to winter in Arizona, pheasant hunting and camping. He participated in competitive target shooting and cribbage tournaments. Robert was very hardworking and very proud of his children and their accomplishments.

 

Survivors include his daughters and son, Kathy (Gary) Kiffmeyer of St. Cloud, Kris (Loren) Eilers of Watertown, SD, Judy (Allan) Eilers of Clear Lake, Linda (Dale) Jones of Coon Rapids and David of Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene on November 15, 2016; son, Gary Hollinder; brothers, Eric and Emil Hollinder; and sisters, Hazel Hollinder, Mildred Macy, and Bernice Kiffmeyer.
