Richard was born and raised in Big Lake, MN. When he was 16, he eagerly joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served in the Philippines. While overseas, he had the unique opportunity to befriend some of the native monkeys that were in the area. When he returned to the U.S., he had his own pet monkey named Clyde. He met Suzie when he was 25, they married and had 5 children. He worked at Industrial Hard Facing as a welder in Elk River for many years. After retirement, he and Suzie enjoyed traveling, and lived in West Virginia and Florida until a hurricane destroyed their home and they chose to return home to MN. Tweety loved to build things, play horseshoes, listen to Polka and Gospel music, birdwatch, root for the Vikings, tend to his lawn, but above all, spend time with his family and his greatest love, Suzie. They are now truly together forever.
