Ray Lester Angell

Ray Lester Angell, age 92 of Monticello and formerly of Becker, passed away on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at the Buffalo Hospital of Buffalo.  Visitation Tuesday July 15, 2014 from 1030 AM to 1130 AM at St Henry Catholic Church, 1001 East 7th Street, Monticello. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1130 AM.  There will be a private interment. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

Ray was born in Becker, MN on March 29, 1922 to Arthur James and Laura Kate (Cox) Angell. He grew up in the Becker area and farmed there most of his life. He was married to Elvira Cihlar. He then married Doris Kalway in September 1976. They lived in Becker for a short time, and moved to Monticello in 1977. Ray loved to hunt in Montana, and enjoyed fishing. He and Doris liked to travel and wintered in Arizona for 13 years.  He like to garden, play pool and cribbage. Ray was also active at the Monticello Senior Citizens Center.
 
Ray is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Doris; son Larry (Lora) Angell of Becker; daughter Connie Angell of Fridley; 3 grandchildren;  6 stepchildren Anna (Richard) Danner of Elk River, Donald (Ruth) Woolhouse of Mesa, AZ, Marilyn Fryling of Glendale, AZ, Bonita (Jerry) Leeman of Becker, Marvin (Nancy) Woolhouse of Milaca, Yvonne (Dave) Traczyk of Rogers; 17 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; and 4 step great great grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his grandson, Bruce Angell; and several brothers and sisters.
