Patricia Phyllis Johnson
Oct. 22, 1943 – June 5, 2018

Patricia Phyllis Johnson (Alman), age 74, of Becker, passed away at home on June 5 after courageously battling cancer over a period of 33 years. Patty was born on October 22, 1943 in Minneapolis to Kenneth and Marietta Alman (Griechen). She was a graduate of Big Lake High School in 1961 and married Donald Johnson on July 7, 1962. She was a long time employee of Honeywell.
The oldest of 10 children, Patty loved spending time with family and friends. You couldn’t exactly count on her arriving anywhere on time, but she always brought so much joy with her that it didn’t even matter. Patty was immeasurably kind and generous with her time and heart. Whatever gifts she had at any moment in her life, mostly non-material things, she measured with profound gratitude. She was a lifelong and diehard Vikings fan…heaven help you if you ever criticized Patty’s Vikes. She also enjoyed her dog Snickers, playing cards and board games, puzzles, fishing and travelling. Patty also baked a mean pie. The Patty-sized hole in her family’s and friend’s worlds will never, ever be filled.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Mike, Norman, and Kenny. She is survived by her husband Donald; her 5 children Bryan (Elena), Rick (Tracy), Jeff (Rachael), Craig (Jody), and Jenny (Alan); her 12 grandchildren Joel, Mark, Katia, Jocelyn, Jasmine, Evedson, Grace, Zachary, Kathryn, Samuel, David, and Matthew; and her 2 great grandchildren Quinn and Lillian. She is also survived by sisters Nettie DuBois (Hans), Joyce McLain, and Mary Badrawi; and brothers Richard, James (Lori), and Ronald (Connie) Alman and many nieces and nephews for whom she always had time.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held Mon. June 11 at Mary of the Visitation Church; 12100 Sherburne Ave; Becker, MN 55308. Fellowship 10 a.m., Service 11 a.m., Luncheon 12 p.m.
