Michael K. Maurer, Jr., 29 of St. Cloud, formerly of South Haven, passed away unexpectedly Sun., Aug. 12. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins with interment in the Main Prairie Cemetery in rural Kimball. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to time of services at the funeral home Monday.

Michael K. Maurer, Jr. was born Dec. 26, 1988 in South Haven. He was home schooled and received his GED in 2005. Michael resided in St. Cloud and had been employed as a manager at fast food restaurants. He was involved in the LGBT community and enjoyed singing, dancing, arts and crafts. Michael also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Michael is survived by his parents, Michael, Sr. and Terri Maurer of South Haven; brothers and sisters, Robert Brown of Bismarck, ND, Teresa Thompson of Tulsa, OK, Samuel Brown of St. Cloud, Randy Brown of South Haven, Jennifer Oehrlein and her husband, Jamie of St. Joseph; grandmother, Kay Winter of Warrensburg, MO; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his life partner, Andy Curtis; brother, Tony Brown , grandparents, Floyd and Marjorie Maurer, and Robert Winter; nephew, Anthony Thompson.
