Marlene D. Houck

Memorial Services will be 1 p.m. Sat., March 1, 2014 with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker for Marlene D. Houck, age 81, who passed away Tuesday at Heritage of Foley Nursing Center in Foley.  Rev. Michael A. Cramer will officiate.

Marlene was born Nov. 17, 1932 in Melrose to Anfelt and Opal (Peacock) Ness. She married Harold Houck Aug. 20, 1952 in Minneapolis.  They lived in Hastings until moving to Briggs Lake near Clear Lake in 1970.  Marlene was a cashier at the Super Valu in Hastings, the Clearwater Truck Stop and the Briggs Lake General Store.  She was a Twins and Vikings fan, and enjoyed fishing, reading, dancing, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, game shows, visiting, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Marlene was a loving and caring person who always put others before herself.  She was an active and supportive Mom who was known for her “pink salad” and chocolate chip cookies.
 
Survivors include her daughters and son, Sherrey (William) Lehn of Stanchfield, Garry (Mary Anne) Houck of Clear Lake, Wanda (Kenneth) Fink of Elk River, and Diana (Buck) Kolstad of Zimmerman; sisters and brother, Wanda Williams of Savage, Nancy Olson of Savage, and William (Barb) Ness of Coon Rapids; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on Jan. 8, 2010; brother, Albert Ness; and sister, Jackie Jensen.
