Loretta was born July 27, 1926, in Santiago Township to Edward & Rosa (Guse) Lange. She married Oliver Vance Rose on April 3, 1948, at South Santiago Lutheran Church. Loretta lived in the Becker/Clear Lake area all of her life. She was a homemaker and also worked in the lunchroom at Clearview School, as a Security Guard at the power plant, and helped at the Lange Home. Loretta was an avid reader and enjoyed books of all kinds. As a woman of deep faith in God her favorite book of all was the Bible. She had a keen green thumb and loved gardening and tending to her beautiful flower beds. Loretta could make the best pies and bread that were second to none. While her family and friends enjoyed her cooking and baking, she loved exercising and eating healthy. She took aqua aerobics classes with her friends at the community center well into her 80’s. Loretta was a proud charter member of the Becker Red Hat Society and enjoyed their friendship and monthly social outings. When she was unable to drive herself anymore, mom especially loved attending with her granddaughter Kim who sported her pink hat at the luncheons. She spent countless evenings watching and rooting for her favorite team, the Minnesota Twins, and finally got to attend her one and only game at Target Field. She knew every player’s name and their position. It was a very special evening. Lastly, with her spirit of adventure, she loved traveling with our dad in their later years together. Her favorite trip was to the Holy Lands where she floated in the Dead Sea and saw many of the sacred locations in the bible. We celebrate and rejoice our amazing mother’s beautiful life.

Survivors include her daughters and son, Wanda Woolhouse of Becker, Allen (Julie) Rose of Crosby, Roxanne (Charles) Henrich of Becker, and Gerri (James) Gefre of Plymouth; grandchildren, Matt, Chad, Amber, Josh, Kim, and Kathryn; great grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony, Victoria, Madi, Ari, Blake, and Colton; and great great grandchildren, Kingston and Xander. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vance; daughter, Patty Rose; brothers, Edward and Robert Lange; and sisters, Louise Brown and Rosella Graning.

Thank you to the staff at St. Cloud Hospital 5th floor for the wonderful care provided to Loretta in her final days, especially her granddaughter, Kim.
