Memorial Services were held Tuesday, September 2 at Faith Lutheran Church in Becker for Lincoln A. Poupore, age 80, of Becker who passed away Friday at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta.  Rev. Richard Wehrs will officiate and burial will be at the Becker Cemetery.  

 

Lincoln was born April 20, 1934 in Duluth to Robert & Laverne (Perrine) Poupore.  He grew up in Floodwood. He raised his children in Duluth where he taught Physical Education, Drivers Education and was Athletic Director for the Duluth School District, retiring in 1991.  He married Jeanne (Kilgard) Wilke on July 20, 1991 at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids.  The couple made their home in Blaine before moving to Becker in 2000.  He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Becker.  Lincoln was a patient, caring, loving person who enjoyed every day to the fullest.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Jeanne of Becker; children, Steven (Sissy) Poupore of Kentucky, Denise Wilke of Florida, Toni (Scott) Poupore-Haats of Duluth, Michael Poupore of Duluth, Lori Wilke of Andover, Jon (James) Poupore of Maine, Anne (Kerry) Poupore-Kempffer of Two Harbors, and Delilah (Jonathan) Poupore Drummey of Maine; grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Carlson, Eric (Jessica) Kempffer, Andréa (Brian) Scribner, Lilyana Poupore Drummey; two great grandchildren, Orion and Trent Carlson; and his cats, Sophie and Callie.  Lincoln was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Wilke; brother, Robert Poupore; and mother-in-law, Bertha Kilgard.
