Lee Jay Fischer, Age 60

BIG LAKE, MN

NOVEMBER 30, 1960-APRIL 12, 2021

Born to Daryl (Bud) and Loretta Fischer.  The second of 3 children. Growing up in the Twin Cities and then moving to Eagle Lake, in Big Lake Township as a kid.  He excelled in football and wrestling throughout high school in Big Lake, where he graduated in 1979.  Then went on to graduate from a 2-year Tech College.  He started and finished his career with NSP/Xcel Energy at their coal plant in Becker, MN. Retiring after 40 years in 2020.  He married his high school sweetheart, Amy Shorba in 1982. They had 3 children together, Megan, Michael and Matthew.  He loved being Dad! After his divorce, he met and married Jena in 1999.  He was also a proud grandpa to Loghan, Elizabeth and Chase. He loved to spoil them and enjoyed watching Chase play football.

He lived life to the fullest!  Always with generosity and full heart.  He would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed being on the lake or riding around in his golf cart.  Pontoon rides were a must! Golfing was another passion, including hunting and fishing. Always keeping busy doing something.  This world lost a great husband, father, brother, grandpa uncle, cousin and friend.  He will be greatly missed, especially the “I love you more” he loved to say.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Loretta Fischer; his first wife, Amy and numerous extended family and friends.  Survived by wife, Jena and stepsons, Brock and Riley Anderson.  His children, Megan (Mick LaFreniere), Michael (Yilin), Matthew; sister, Jackie (Larry) Moores and brother, Greg (Debbie) Fischer and countless nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
