Lawrence Earl Storms

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at St. Mary Help of Christians Church in St. Augusta for Larry Storms, 63. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Rev. Jose Edayadiyil will officiate, with burial in the parish cemetery.

Larry attended Wryrock, a one-room schoolhouse, through the eighth grade and graduated from Tech High School. He was industrious, working the land of his ancestors’ Century Farm while employed as a polisher at DCI for 28 years. He then entered his second career as an owner-operated truck driver, a life-long dream. Larry enjoyed his routes through the mountains and traveling the many roads and stops of the west and south, meeting new friends along the journey. He generously shared the abundance of his loads with family and neighbors. Larry enjoyed years of love and happiness with Leslie. He had many faithful dogs throughout his life; especially beloved were Cocoa, Whiskey and his trucking partner Angel. Larry was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians and his faith gave him strength. He was also a member of the Son of the American Legion; he had good times there.

Larry is survived by his eight siblings, two generations of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby niece. Larry’s earthly suffering has now ended; may he experience God’s eternal peace. In lieu of flowers or plants (due to severe allergies), bring a bag of dog food to be donated to the Tri-County Humane Society. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary Help of Christians Church. In honoring his memory, Larry’s family hopes his many friends continue to celebrate his life, as they also will.
