John R. Larson Sr.

Visitation followed by a brief prayer service was held Sat., Aug. 26 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Becker, for John R. Larson, age 84, who passed away Tuesday at his home in Becker. Burial was at the Big Lake Cemetery in Big Lake.
 
John R. Larson was born March 20, 1933 to Edwin and Mabel (Belfanz) Larson in Princeton. John married Marilyn Barrett October 17, 1953. He became a Foreman for the City of Minneapolis Street Department where he was employed for 32 years. John was also employed by the Auto Auction in Becker after retirement. John loved sports, especially watching the MN Twins, playing horse shoes, and cribbage. He was not only family oriented but he was sure to be a friend to everyone and was always supporting his grandkids. John loved to dance, was self-disciplined, and kept up on current events. He truly loved where he lived and participated in the various activities and card games at Shepherd of Grace Apartments. 
 
John is survived by his children, Dawn Larson of Sartell, Cindy (Philip) Hage of Maple Grove, John Larson, Jr. of Virginia, Douglas Larson of St. Paul, Debbie (Rick) Larson-Hurt of Clear Lake; special friend, Barbara of Plymouth; sister, Louise Beadles of Ladysmith, WI.; brother, Jerry Larson of Delano; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and all of his friends from Shepherd of Grace Apartments. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn in 1982; daughter, Patti Larson; and siblings, Marita Pearson, Louis Larson and Chuck Larson.
