Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake for Glen S. Wipper, age 82, who passed away Thursday, June 4 at the Foley Nursing Center, Foley. Pastor George Sagissor, III will officiate and burial will be at the South Santiago Lutheran Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sun., June 7 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church in Clear Lake.
Glen was born Oct. 15, 1932 in St. Cloud to Simon and Marion (Hopke) Wipper. He grew up in the St. Cloud area with nine siblings. On Feb. 6, 1954 Glen married Verna Gilyard at South Santiago Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, and welcomed six children into their family. Glen was a farmer for his entire life of which he loved and took great pride in. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins. Glen loved visiting with family and friends, and always was happy to see and play with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being a prankster.
Glen is survived by his children and their spouses, Greg & Orene of Becker, Bruce & Gina, Brian & Ruth all of St. Cloud, Robert & Jean, Joan & Harry Ernzer and Sharon & Jeff Cielinski all of Clear Lake; siblings, Roy (Rosie) Wipper of Clear Lake, Gerald “Jerry” Wipper of Sartell, and Gary Lee Wipper of Clearwater; eleven grandchildren, three step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna on Nov. 5, 2011; grandson, Travis Wipper; and siblings, Irene Dierkes, Vernon Wipper, Hazel Leyk, Gordon Wipper, Leona Goenner and Carol Niedzielski.
