Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 3 at Snake River Free Church in Becker for Eugene E. Dirks, 60, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday. Rev. Steve Johnston officiated and burial was in The Danish Cemetery, Becker.

 

Eugene was born in Tyler, Minnesota on February, 27, 1954 to Ernest and Elsie (Rudebusch) Dirks. He married Beverly Peterson on June 8, 1975 at Independent Christian Church in Marshall. Eugene cared for many patients as nurse and later moved to administration. After his retirement he became a full time husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Snake River Free Church in Becker; where he was very involved. Eugene had a strong relationship with Jesus and God peacefully brought Eugene home to forever be in His presence. The last 10 years of his life he joyfully embraced retirement enjoying time with his family, getting to know God more through studying the Bible, hunting, photography, and being a grandpa. He will be dearly missed.

 

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Beverly of Becker; children, Erin (Vincent) Horn of Becker, Chad (Victoria) of Chaska, Amy of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Micah, Leah, Henry, Ezra, and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his parents.
