Eloise M. Blizil, age 91, of Maple Lake, died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at her home with family at her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Visitation will be held 3:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Eloise Marion Blizil was born May 22, 1927 in Robbinsdale, the only child of Maurice and Lillian (Stormoen) Swenson. She grew up in Robbinsdale and graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, CA. On January 18, 1947, Eloise was united in marriage to Clifford Blizil, Sr. in Robbinsdale. Together, they owned and operated a dairy farm near Maple Lake. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake and the Maple Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 131. Eloise enjoyed coloring, bird watching, deer hunting, fishing, boating, baking, vegetable gardening and flower gardening. She was a prankster and a jokester that loved life. Eloise enjoyed watching sports, especially when her children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren were playing. She loved her time with her dog, Cola, and her family.
Eloise is survived by her children, Marlene (Jim) Wurm of Maple Lake, Clifford "Kip" (Sandy) Blizil of Maple Lake, Cathie (Melvin) Mehr of South Haven, Vicki (Dale) Decker of Maple Lake and Marlys (Bart) Lauer of Jacobson; 21 grandchildren, Loren, Lloyd, Lenny, LeRoy, Lance, Bobbie, Bill, Beth, Charlie, Michelle, Katie Jo, Brandi, Cody, Riley, Brooke, Alicia, Derek, Adam, Daniel, David and Alana; 40 great grandchildren, Colin, Caroline, Cassie, Lindsey, Charlee, Molly, Andrew, Jordan, Morgan, Raegan, Kayzley, Kylin, Zach, Shauni, Caitlin, Breanna, Brayden, Broc, Carter, Nicole, Raelyn, Saria, Tavia, Matteo, Nora, Nealy, Harvey, Nolan, Hayden, Olivia, Gavin, Ariyah, Aniyah, Mazie, Mack, Cameron, Charlee, Levi, Ava and Adelyn; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Blizil. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three infant children; brother-in-law Irving Blizil; and nephew Gary Blizil.
The casket bearers will be Loren Wurm, Bill Blizil, Charlie Mehr, Cody Decker, Derek Northenscold, Joe Dalman, Todd Sandberg, and Steve Blizil. Krista Elsenpeter, Anne Pribyl, and Nicole Turner will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
