Elizabeth "Betty Jean" Piccolo, 76 of Becker, passed lovingly surrounded by family Mon., February 11, at North Memorial Hospital.
Betty Jean was born May 1, 1942 in Thief River Falls to parents Edmund and Doris Lajambe. Betty graduated from Oklee High School and attended Bemidji State University where she received her degree in Education. Betty was teaching in Kwajalein when she met her husband Joseph Piccolo. They were married on March 17, 1966 at the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, NV. They became long time residence of Becker, where they raised their two sons Wade and Eddie. Betty Jean taught and coached at Elk River High School for 33 years.
Betty is survived by her two sons Wade (Keisha) Piccolo of St. Cloud and Eddie Piccolo of Monticello. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Lajambe, brother, Bobby Lajambe, and husband, Joseph Piccolo.
Betty Jean loved sports, whether watching or participating. She loved games and she loved to travel. Most importantly Betty Jean loved her family and looked forward each year to the family reunion. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, March 2 at Faith Lutheran Church in Becker. Visitation from 10-11 a.m. and Service to be held at 11 a.m.
