Memorial services will be held Sat., March 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Becker Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello. 

 

Duane was born in Monticello Oct. 1, 1945, to William P. and Vera (Hamacher) Brown. He grew up in the Becker area, but lived much of his life in the Twin Cities area, including the last 25 years in Brooklyn Park. He was employed at Spancrete Hanson in Maple Grove for many years.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vera; brother Kenny Brown; and sister Loretta Moeller. Duane is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jason) Smith of Big Lake; granddaughter Julia; siblings Donny (Barb) Brown, Jerry Brown, Roger (Karen) Brown, Carl Brown, Harry Brown, Pearl Brown, Karen Schmittinger, and Bobby Brown.
