Dr. Bruce William Kuhlmann died peacefully, Sun., Dec. 23, in the caring arms of his children after a two-year battle with cancer.
Bruce and his twin brother David were born in Melrose, MN to Dr. L.B. and Mary Kuhlmann.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota after serving in the Coast Guard. He then went on to become a third-generation doctor at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his training, he then went on to serve the people of Centralia/Chehalis in Washington State from the1980’s to 1995 at The Family Health Center.
In 1995, he moved back to his home state of Minnesota and was one of the founding members of the CentraCare Becker location retiring in 2018.
Being a doctor was not a job for Bruce Kuhlmann, it was his identity. Patients loved his kind bedside manner and would surprise those who had difficulty getting to the office by making housecalls.
He will be remembered as an inquisitive, humble, and generous man, father, and doctor; well known for his avid collection of sneakers.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Lawrence, David, and Karl. He is survived by his beloved children Nathan and Dr. Erica Kuhlmann. His brother James, former spouse Sharon Kuhlmann, and extended family.
