Darlene Carol Trovall

Darlene “Dar” Trovall of Becker passed away peacefully to be with her Savior on August 26, 2014.  Her final days were spent with her family and friends at St. Benedict’s Senior Care Center, St. Cloud, MN. 

Dar was born Darlene Carol Mix on October 26, 1933 to parents Louis and Eunice (Ness) Mix in Palmer Township.   She was baptized November 1, 1933 and confirmed in her faith June 22, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.  In 1960 she was married to Jack Trovall of Clearwater, where she had lived for over 30 years before moving to Becker.  Their marriage was blessed with three children:  Carl, Deron, and Erik.
 
Darlene was a 1951 graduate of St. Cloud Technical High School and went on to complete a degree in education at St. Cloud State University. After graduating Darlene taught school in Glendive, MT and Las Vegas, NV, Anoka, MN, tutored many students and was a substitute teacher at Clearview Elementary in Clear Lake.  
 
Darlene lived life to the fullest and was passionate in her devotion and service to Jesus Christ, her Savior.  She was an active member and served as organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake and, later, at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater.  She exemplified commitment to God, family, friends, and her community.  Darlene’s most cherished moments were spent with her family.  She also had a deep love of traveling, music, playing accordion with the Hoot’n Annie Band, scrapbooking, and working on her family’s genealogy.  She volunteered her time in various ways, including Meals-on-Wheels, the Sherburne County History Center, Tri-County Humane Society and was a member of the Clearwater and Becker Lioness.
 
Those who remain to grieve her passing include her husband, Jack; her children, Carl and daughter-in-law Carol of Pflugerville, TX, Deron and daughter-in-law Jody of Becker, MN and Erik and daughter in law Jennifer of Sidney, BC, Canada; her sisters Gwen Larson of St. Cloud and Delphine Dinsmore of Gardnerville, NV; her grandchildren, Brieanna Trovall of Brooklyn Park, MN, Isaiah Trovall of Becker, MN, Elizabeth Trovall of Santiago, Chile, Carl James Trovall of Pflugerville, TX, and Nathanael Trovall of Sidney, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Harold.
 
Jack and his family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of St. Benedict’s Senior Care Center for their sincere kindness and assistance in her year with them. A special thank you goes to Ron and Jean Wenzel of Sidney, BC and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday September 2 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.  On Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. a celebration of Dar’s life will be held at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater, with Pastor Scott Gjevre officiating.  Interment will be at the Becker Cemetery, Becker, MN. 
 
In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made in memory of Darlene Trovall to Rejoice Lutheran Church Stained Glass Window Project.
