Alma R. Schroeder, age 75, of South Haven, died, Sun., Dec. 31, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services were Friday, Jan. 5, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fairhaven, Rev. Timothy Nerud officiated. Burial followed at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was Thurs. and prior to service Friday, both at the church. A prayer service was at the church on Thursday.
Alma Ruth Schroeder was born September 19, 1942 to Roy and Earlene (Boyd) Barnes in Graceville. She was baptized soon after her birth. Alma grew up in Graceville until the family moved to St. Cloud in 1950. She was confirmed in her faith on May 27, 1956. August 15, 1959 Alma was united in marriage to Marlin J. Schroeder at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. They farmed together in South Haven, where Alma was the caretaker of her family. She volunteered at WeeCare WeShare in Annandale. Alma enjoyed quilting, canning, baking, playing cards and Aggravation, traveling, fishing and caring for her animals and family. Her family was the greatest love in her life.
Alma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Marlin of South Haven; children, James (Karen) Schroeder of Gibbon, Darlene (Calvin) Dillon of Annandale, Victoria (Warren) Luedtke of Sauk Rapids, Patricia (Timothy) Fasching of Dassel, Marsha (Vernon, Jr. “Ed”) Gerstner of River Falls, WI, Sarah Schroeder (Dustin) Corbett of South Haven, Michelle Schroeder of South Haven and Daniel (Alicia) Schroeder of Dassel; grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany) Schroeder, Dustin (Sarah) Schroeder, Jennifer (Matthew) Doherty, Amy (Anthony) Skuza, Alisha (Robert) Koopmeiners, Alex (Stephanie) Evavold, Joshua Fasching, William Fasching, Sabrina Cudd, Wade Cudd, Tyler Schroeder, Trever Schroeder, Tanner Schroeder, Derek Schroeder, Emma Schroeder, and Abbey Schroeder; 15 great grandchildren, Demetri, Breanna, KayLie, Sophia, Griffen, Gwena, Aiden, Grahm, Adalynn, Bryce, Riley, Sawyer, Reese, Hudson, and Magnolia; brothers, Richard Barnes of Elsinore, UT and Warren Barnes of Avon. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Earlene Barnes; twin grandsons Travis and Dereck Dillon; nephew Randy Barnes; and parents-in-law Ewald and Erna Schroeder.
Alex Evavold, Tyler, Trever, Tanner and Dustin Schroeder, Joshua Barnes, Wade Cudd and Joshua Fasching will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
