Wildlife Tours Begin Sept. 7

Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge is offering two free guided wildflower tours in September.

The tours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sat., Sept. 7, and Sat., Sept. 14.

Both tours will be led by refuge volunteers Robin DeLong and Mitch Elness. Meet them at the Oak Savanna Learning Center, 16797 289th Ave NW, Zimmerman. The learning center is located approximately 5 miles west of Hwy. 169 off of Sherburne Co. Rd. 9.

The tours will be structured as a car caravan and will stop at several different locations throughout the refuge. Carpooling is encouraged for groups and some light walking is required.

The Eagle’s Nest Nature Store, operated by the Friends of Sherburne, will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on both of these mornings.

Pre-registration is requested but not required by calling the refuge headquarters at 763-389-3323 or emailing sherburne@fws.gov.
