The Becker Intermediate School was excited to reveal a friendly, school-wide, “Joy” inspired competition to their students.
Students (in-person and distance learners alike) were provided a blank 8.5 x 11 piece of paper that they were asked to decorate with: coloring crayons, colored pencils, paint, and/or markers. Additionally, their picture needed to include something that means “Joy” to them. This is where kids were able to get creative.
Artists were encouraged to include their interpretation of the word itself (i.e. how it makes themselves or other people feel), or things that are important to them that cause them joy (i.e. pets, sports, family members, etc.).
Students from each class submitted their drawings Feb. 18 to decide the top two drawings from each class. The finalists from each class then went on to a school-wide vote including: students, faculty, and staff.
Then, Feb. 25, within a video link sent to each classroom, the winners were announced:
Third Grade
1). Audrey Meyer (#303); 2). Blake Koubsky (#314); 3). Caitlan Zabinski (#306).
