Vbs Was A Blast At Tca Church

Kids at Tri-County Alliance (TCA) Church in Clearwater had a blast during their big week of Vacation Bible School. Running in the evenings of Aug. 18-21, 40 children from four years old to sixth grade attended the event.

Biblical lessons were taught and reinforced each night through small group discussion and crafts, which focused on the theme of ‘perseverance from the Old Testament story of Nehemiah,’ and culminated with the sharing of the Gospel message on the final evening. The VBS theme this year was Hebrews 12:1b, “…and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

In addition to hearing and learning their lessons, the kids had a blast with sports camp, participating in different outdoor activities each night, including soccer, track and field, and kickball/basketball/jump rope. Slip-n-slide kickball was a big hit on the final evening, which was water games night.

Along with VBS activities, over $300 was brought in for a special offering that will go toward shipping costs for Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts.

Special thanks was given to Megan Larson, TCA Children’s Ministry Director, and her team of volunteers for all their work in making the week happen. A slide show highlighting the event was shown during TCA’s regular worship service the following Sunday.

TCA’s Wednesday night youth activities start Sept. 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with Bible Adventure Club for students age 4 through fifth grade, and TCA Youth Group for students in grades 6 to 12. Each Wednesday evening the church also provides a free meal for the whole family from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Everyone is invited!
