The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened at 2 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Hwy. 10 and Sherburne Avenue in Becker.

 

A 2010 Ford light-duty truck driven by 43-year-old Tammy Schaefer of Chanhassen, was southbound on Sherburne when she struck a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Brett Behnke, 52 of Turtle River, who was westbound on Hwy. 10 when the two collided. Turtle River is about 12 miles northeast of Bemidji.

 

Schaefer was reported to be turning from Sherburne Avenue onto eastbound Hwy. 10 when the accident occurred.

 

Behnke was killed in the collision while Schaefer did not report any injuries.

 

Becker Police Dept. and Sherburne County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
