Big Lake Schools and the ALICE Training® Institute are proud to partner in bringing ALICE Instructor Certification Training to the region June 10 and 11, hosted at Big Lake Middle School.
This transformative two-day course equips individuals with life-saving, proactive response strategies to use during violent critical incidents—strategies rooted in empowerment, awareness, and a trauma-informed approach.
Unlike traditional response plans, the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) program emphasizes individual agency and preparedness. The training teaches participants how to take an active role in their own survival and to support others in the critical moments before law enforcement arrives. By tailoring approaches to age, ability, and environment, ALICE ensures that everyone can contribute to safety and resilience, no matter their role or setting.
This certification course empowers individuals from all walks of life—educators, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, business leaders, and faith communities—with the tools to lead safety initiatives in their own organizations. Upon completion, participants become certified ALICE instructors, equipped to share these powerful strategies and strengthen the culture of preparedness within their communities.
In addition to certification, registrants gain access to exclusive ALICE resources and continuous support, helping them grow as safety leaders and advocates for empowerment.

About ALICE Training
ALICE Training is the original proactive, options-based response program designed to give civilians the confidence and skills to act decisively in the face of violence. Built on the belief that empowered people are safer people, ALICE prepares individuals to recognize danger, make informed decisions, and take action. The program challenges the myth of helplessness by showing that violence is survivable—and that everyone can play a role in saving lives.
